Christopher Sahlström of Sweden, shot a final round 68 to hold off defending Champion Florian Prägant of Austria by one shot to win the Katameya Dunes Championship, Event 3 on the 2018 Mediterranean Tour Winter Series.
Going into the lead four shots behind overnight leader Duncan Stewart from Scotland, Sahlström shot a best of day 68, to win by one shot.
This is Christopher’s second International Professional win, and guarantees him a Challenge Tour spot for winning a Mediterranean Tour Event in 2018.
Speaking after his win, said I did not expect to win after only paring the Par 5 Eighteenth at the fabulous Katameya Dunes Golf Course, but with the rest of the field chasing, no one could catch the Swede.
The result takes Sahlström to the top of the Order of Merit, with the winner of the OOM taking home 3 Challenge Tour Spots in the 2018 Mediterranean Tour Winter Series.
The Mediterranean Tour Moves on to Mirage City for the Mirage City Classic 2018, beginning on the 11th March, and it could not be closer in the Order of Merit, as the players compete for the 17 Challenge Tour spots on offer through the Mediterranean Tour season.
